Why Oriental Medicine?

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, illness is caused by either an imbalance or a blockage inside the body which impedes the flow of blood and energy (Qi). I believe in natural medicine and have found it has a powerful ability to restore balance and open these blockages, which triggers our innate ability to heal from within physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

I believe that medicine begins with nourishing what is deficient in your body by finding the root of your imbalance. To find the root is to treat the cause of illness; it is never my intention to only mask symptoms. Healing is a process of not only the body, but of the mind and spirit. It requires initiative, care, self exploration, and effort on the part of both the patient and the practitioner. Emotion, diet, sleep, and exercise can all be culprits to physical illness and pain and are important factors in health maintenance.

How I Practice

My treatment goals include using Chinese Herbs to provide a means to nourish what your body may be lacking from your diet, using acupuncture to correct what is imbalanced and using Reiki as a means of energetic healing. In order to prevent future illness, lifestyle modification is key and it is my intention to help you identify where improvements can be made to benefit your health. I believe in encouraging patients to take an active initiative in their own well-being and hope that together we can make a profound difference in your life.
